Alison Adamson has been named to the 2005-06 ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA Women's Basketball Academic All-America Third Team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Adamson is a junior point guard from Willmar, Minn. She maintains a 3.98 cumulative grade point average as a history and secondary education major. Earlier this season she was named to the Academic All-North Central Conference Team and the 2005-06 ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-America District VII First Team.
Adamson, who becomes the fourth Viking women's basketball player to earn Academic All-America honors, has started all 27 games for the Vikings this season. She leads the team in scoring at 13.6 points per game and assists at 4.1 assists per contest. She also ranks third on the team in steals with 49.
In the North Central Conference statistics, Adamson is eighth in the league in scoring, fifth in assists, eighth in steals, fourth in 3-point field goals per game (1.93 avg) and ninth in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.37 avg).
Adamson became the Vikings' starting point guard midway through the 2004-05 season. She went on to earn All-North Central Conference honors.
