The Vikings fell to 22-13 overall and 5-5 in the NCC, while UNO improved to 37-8 overall and 10-0 in the NCC.
Augustana was handcuffed by UNO pitcher Tyler Cloyd in the opener. Cloyd tossed a 3-hit shutout after taking a no-hitter into the sixth inning.
Gary Walz broke up the no-hitter with a 2-out single.
In the nightcap, Augustana led 2-1 after 3 innings and added another run in the top of the fourth to lead 3-1. However, the Mavericks scored 1 run in the fourth inning and 3 more runs in the fifth inning to take the lead for good.
The Vikings and Mavericks conclude their 4-game series Sunday in Sioux Falls. The doubleheader begins at 2 p.m. at Ronken Field.
