Jen Buyske, Robert Ihry Earn Academic All-NCC Honors

A pair of Augustana student-athletes have been named to the Academic All-North Central Conference Track and Field/Cross Country Teams, the league office announced today.

Jen Buyske was named to the 13-member women's team, while Robert Ihry was chosen to the 10-member men's squad. Both are first-time selections to their respective teams.

Buyske, a sophomore from Shelby, Mont., has a 3.90 cumulative grade point average as a government major. She placed second in the javelin at last week's NCC Outdoor Track and Field Championships after winning conference and national titles in 2005. She will try to defend her national title at next week's Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships.

Ihry, a sophomore from Fargo, N.D., is a biology major with a 3.72 cumulative grade point average. A member of both the cross country and track and field teams, Ihry placed 19th at the 2005 NCC Cross Country Championships. At the 2006 NCC Indoor Track and Field Championships, he was eigth in the 5,000 meters and 10th in the 3,000 meters.
