MSU Alumni ResultsAugustana set 4 school records to highlight a strong showing at the MSU Alumni Open Saturday in Mankato, Minn.
Junior
Lindsey Schultz and freshman
Bobbi Jo Buyck each set 2 school records. Schultz broke her own school record in the shot put with a winning toss of 44-4.25. Her previous record was 44-4 set last year.
Schultz also broke the school record in the weight throw. She placed fifth in the event with a mark of 42-3.5.
Meanwhile, Buyck set school records in the pole vault and 60-meter dash. Buyck cleared 10-6.25 to finish 8th. She then won the 60-meter dash in 7.78, edging teammate
Megan Lauseng, who was second in 7.96.
The Vikings' distance medley relay team was also victorious. The quartet of
Rachel Stangler,
Jenny Anderson,
Mairead Kelly and
Jessica Pape turned in a time of 12:35.51. Meanwhile, the 4X400 team of
Kayla White,
Annaliese Pepin,
Jessica Pierson and Lauseng was second in a time of 4:04.59.
Pepin earned the Vikings' other win by claiming the 500-meter run in 1:22.67.
White also placed second in the 400 meter dash in 1:01.60, while Stangler was second in the mile in 5:15.15.
Jordan Johnson had Augie's other runner-up finish by placing second to Schultz in the shot put with a mark of 39-4.
On the men's side,
Bryan Prairie led a small contingent of Vikings with 2 top 6 finishes. He was fifth in the triple jump with a leap of 38-9.5 and sixth in the long jump with a mark of 19-8.
In addition,
Zach Morris was fifth in the 400 in 53.99 and ninth in the 200 in 24.14.
