Even without their top runners, the Augustana men's and women's cross country teams dominated the competition Friday at the Tim Young Pre-Regional Meet Friday at the Don Baker Cross Country Course in Vermillion, S.D.

Each of the Viking teams held out their top 3 runners on Friday, but it didn't slow them down. The Augie women, ranked No. 5 in the nation, had 6 of the top 10 finishers as they compiled a team score of 26. North Dakota, ranked 14th in the nation, was second at 37, while South Dakota was third at 76.

Caitlin Polgreen led the Vikings by placing third in a time of 23:53.50. Miranda Wagner was next in for the Vikings in fifth place in 23:48.68, while Alyssa Anderson came in sixth in 24:03.40. Kaylen Harris of Nebraska-Omaha claimed the women's race in 22:27.67.

On the men's side, the Vikings also put 6 finishers in the top 10, including 2 of the top 3 placers to finish with a team score of 26. North Dakota was second at 48, while South Dakota was third at 52.

Bart Johnson and Kaleb Boese teamed up to finsih second and third. Johnson turned in a time of 35:06.92 on the 10K course, while Boese was clocked at 35:07.21. Matt Yaggie of South Dakota won the men's race in 35:06.92.
