Box ScoreIn its final regular season NCC match ever, the Augustana volleyball team defeated St. Cloud State, 30-26, 25-30, 30-22 and 30-26, Saturday in St. Cloud, Minn.
With the win, the Vikings finished 19-10 (7-5 NCC) for the regular season, while St. Cloud State fell to 10-21 (2-10 NCC).
Coming off a big night at North Dakota,
Cayla Schroeder and
Ellen Andrews again led the Vikings offensively. Schroeder pounded 19 kills and hit .486, while Andrews tallied 18 kills and hit .250.
After spotting SCSU a 16-13 lead, the Vikings rallied to close the first game on a 17-10 run for the 30-26 win. After dropping the second game 30-25, Augie rebounded to take an early 17-9 lead in game 3 and cruised to the 2-1 lead. In game 4, the teams played to a 20-20 tie, but kills by Schroeder, Andrews and
Rebecca Hindman led Augie to 30-26 and the game and match victory.
The Vikings now await the announcement of the field for the NCAA regionals.
