Drake Relays Results - FridayKip Janvrin Open - Simpson ColDakota State Relays ResultsAugustana student-athletes competed in track and field events at three separate invitationals Friday. The Vikings competed at the Drake Relays in Des Moines, Iowa, the Kip Janvrin Open at Simpson College in Indianola, Iowa, and the Dakota State Invitational in Madison, S.D.
At the Drake Relays, the Augustana women's distance medley team, composed of
Mairead Kelly, Annaliese Pepin, Caitlin Polgreen and
Jessica Pape took ninth place in the college division in a time of 12:11.55.
The women's 4x100 meter relay team, made up of
Bobbi Jo Buyck, Kayla White, Sarah Drew and
Megan Lauseng did not qualify for Saturday's final, but finished the preliminary heat in 50.17. The women's 4x400 meter relay team (Lauseng, Pepin,
Kayla White, Jessica Pierson) also did not qualify for Saturday's final, but ran its heat with a time of 3:58.99 for 19th place.
Jen Buyske finished 21st in the women's javelin, with 40.71 meters her best throw of the event.
At the Kip Janvrin Open in Indianola, Iowa,
Molly Clark finished fourth in the Women's 1500 Meter Run with a time of 4:43.16. Pape, after running earlier in the Drake Relays, finished fourth (18:03.31) in the Women's 5000 Meter Run.
Lindsey Schultz finished sixth in the Women's Shot Put with a best throw of 13.43 meters. She also finished fifth in the discus, throwing 42.37 meters. Teammate
Jordan Johnson finished 31st at 35.42 meters. Johnson also competed in the Women's Javelin. Her best throw of 32.02 meters earned her 12th place.
Nathaniel Petrich took 14th in the Men's 5000 Meter Run in 15:44.22 while fellow Viking
Grahm Bahnson finished 21st in 16:03.21.
Brian Prairie competed in the Men's Long and Triple Jump, finishing 14th (6.31 meters) and sixth (13.44 meters), respectively.
At the Dakota State Invitational,
Alyssa Anderson won the Women's 5000 Meter Run in a time of 19:17.89.
Melissa Jackson competed in both the Women's Javelin and Women's 1500 Meter Run. She finished fifth in the 1500 with a time of 5:25.69, and took third in the javelin, with a toss of 72 feet, 9.5 inches.
Matt Heesch ran the Men's 1500 Meter Run and took fifth with a time of 4:23.63. Teammate
Peter Oien finished eighth in 4:31.78. Heesch also ran in the Men's 5000 Meter Run, finishing third in a time of 16:15.60. Fellow Viking
Charlie Bahnson finished behind him in fourth at 16:19.04.
The Vikings will compete in final-day events at the Drake Relays on Saturday.
