Augustana's
Lindsey Schultz placed 13th in the shot put Friday at the 2007 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships, which are being held at Irwin Belk Stadium in Charlotte, N.C.
Schultz, a junior from Lakeville, Minn., registered a mark of 44-05.25 on her first attempt of the competition. She then fouled on her next 2 attempts and did not advance to the event finals.
Bemidji State's Sheena Devine won the national title with a mark of 50-07.5.
Schultz finished 12th in the shot put at the Division II Indoor Championships in March.
The Vikings will have three athlete in action on Saturday. Former national champion
Jen Buyske will go for her second national title in the javelin, while
Mairead Kelly and
Rachel Stangler will compete in the finals of the 3,000 meter steeplechase. Kelly qualified third and Stangler fourth in Thursday's preliminary round.
