Score UpdatesMetro State CollegeRegis UniversityDENVER, COLO. - Twelve teams, including nine teams ranked in the nation's top 25, gather in Denver this weekend for the 12th annual Colorado Premier Challenge volleyball tournament co-hosted by Regis University and Metro State, August 31-September 1.
As always, the tournament promises to be one of the finest in the nation. Ten of the 12 teams competing are ranked in the CSTV/AVCA preseason Top 25 or receiving votes, including six teams in the top 15. Minnesota Duluth is No. 2, while Grand Valley State is No. 11, Central Missouri is No. 12, Chico State is No. 13, West Texas A&M is No. 14 and SIU-Edwardsville is No. 15.
The tournament begins Friday with the 12 teams divided into four pools. Two pools play at Regis and two compete at Metro State. At both sites, matches will be played at noon, 3:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. All times are Mountain Daylight Time.
For Augustana, the Vikings will play at Regis University on Friday. Augustana plays Central Missouri State at noon and Chico State at 3:30 p.m.
Saturday's action will be determined by Friday's results. Metro State hosts the silver (second in pool) and bronze (third in pool) matches, while Regis hosts the gold matches. The championship match is at Regis, 7 p.m., Saturday.
