The NCAA will announce the fields for the 64-team Division II men's and women's basketball tournaments on an exclusive selection show scheduled for Sunday, March 9, beginning at 9:30 p.m. Central Time.
Audio and video streaming of both shows can be accessed by logging on to
www.cstv.com/ncaa/divii/ or
www.ncaa.com.
For fans to watch or listen to the shows, their computers must have a high speed internet connection, Windows Media Player and Flash 7.0 or 8.0 for Internet Explorer.
Following the selection shows, the brackets for both the men's and women's tournaments will be posted on
www.ncaa.com. The top eight teams in each of the eight regions will qualify for the NCAA Tournament.
The Augustana men's and women's teams are both in position to be selected for the NCAA Tournament. The Viking men, who have not made the tournament since the 1988-89 season, were ranked fifth in the regional rankings this week. The Vikings are in the semifinals of the North Central Conference Tournament on Saturday in Mankato, Minn.
Meanwhile, the Augie women are seeking their third-straight trip to the NCAA Tournament. This week the Vikings were ranked eighth in the region. Augustana is in the semifinals of the North Central Conference Tournament on Saturday in Vermillion, S.D.
The NCC Tournament champions receive automatic bids to the NCAA Tournament.
