Final Results
As the weather improved on Monday, so did the Augustana women's golf team at the Concordia University Fall Invitational at Tartan Park Golf Club in Lake Elmo, Minn.,
The Viking women knocked 10 strokes off its first-round total to shoot a team score of 329 Monday. The improvement gave Augie a two-day team score of 668, which helped the Vikings finish in fourth place out of 11 teams. Host Concordia-St. Paul won the team title with a 36-hole total of 651, which was 1 shot better than North Dakota, which was second at 652. Upper Iowa was third at 660.
Kelly Lauer paced the Vikings on Monday. After shooting an 85 on Sunday, she carded a 79 on Monday to finish in eighth place at 164. Lauer finished 11 shots behind individual medalist Rachel Schmidt of Upper Iowa, who finished at 153. Meanwhile,
Laura Strautz and
Kate Tobin were close behind. Strautz shot an 85 on Monday to tie for ninth place at 165, while Tobin tied for 13th place at 166 following her second-round total of 84.
Kaari Espeland improved 11 shots in her second round to finish in a tie for 24th place at 173.
Molly Leland rounded out the Viking scorers by chipping 6 shots off her first day score to shoot an 89 and finish with a 183, which tied her for 38th place.
Individually,
Kelli Lowry finished 36th at 181 and
Megan Entwisle was 40th at 184.
