Augie Women Tie for Second at Cedar Valley Invitational

The Augustana women's golf team tied for second place at the Cedar Valley Invitational which concluded Sunday at Cedar Valley Golf Club in Winona, Minn.

The Vikings shot a 325 on Sunday to finish with a 36-hole total of 653, tying Winona State for second place in the three-team tournament. First-round leader Minnesota State University, Mankato, withstood a shaky round on Sunday to hold on to win the team title at 651. The Mavericks had a 14 shot lead over Augustana heading into Sunday's action.

Augustana's Kate Tobin shot her second-straight 81 on Sunday to earn fourth-place honors in the individual standings. Lisa Moline of Minnesota State, the first-round leader, was the individual medalist after finishing at 157. MSU's Jaymie Halverson was second at 160, while Winona State's Courtney Sovereign was third at 161.

For the Vikings, their scores were consistent. Laura Strautz and Kaari Espeland each finished at 165, while Molly Leland and Kelly Lauer shot 166 and 167. Megan Entwisle, competing as an individual, carded a 180.
