Behind strong showings by sophomore Kate Tobin and freshman Molly Leland, the Augustana women's golf team finished third at the Augustana Fall Invitational, which concluded Monday at Bakker Crossing.

The Vikings shots a 321 during Monday's second round to finish with a 36-hole total of 638. Concordia-St. Paul, which entered Monday's play in fourth place, rallied to shoot a 308 on Monday to win the team title. The Golden Bears finished with a 2-day total of 627 to edge first-round leader Minnesota State, which finished 3 strokes off the pace at 630.

Individually, North Dakota's Kristi Lucken claimed medalist honors after shooting a 150 for the tournament.

Tobin and Leland had the two best rounds for Augustana. Tobin carded a 74 on Monday to finish in a tie for 7th place at 156, just 6 shots off the lead. Meanwhile, Leland shot a 79 on Monday to finish tied for 20th place along with teammate Kelli Lowry at 165.

Laura Strautz finished in a tie for 13th place at 161, while Kaari Espeland was 1 shot back in 17th place at 162.

Augustana returns to the links on Sunday and Monday when the Vikings participate in the Wildwood Lodge Invitational in St. Paul, Minn.
