The Augustana softball team earned a No. 8 ranking on the 2009 Top Ten All-Academic Teams list, the National Fastpitch Coaches Association announced today.
The Vikings posted a cumulative grade point average of 3.42 during the 2008-09 academic year, In addition, the team posted a 31-23 overall record in the 2009 season, and finished second in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference regular season standings.
The Top Ten All-Academic Teams is based on GPAs submitted for the 2008-09 school year. Through this program, the NFCA honors high school and collegiate softball teams for their success in the classroom.
Augustana was the only NSIC squad to finish in the top 10.
