Augustana College assistant wrestling coach Tom Meester finished in third place at the Sunkist Kids International Open in Phoenix, Ariz., last weekend.

Wrestling against some of the top competition in the nation, Meester went 5-1 in the 84 kg/185 pound weight class. His only loss came in the quarterfinals when he lost to eventual champion Chris Pendleton 3-2, 6-1. 

Meester rebounded from the setback and fought his way back through the consolation bracket. He defeated Raymond Jordan for 3rd place, 5-0 and 2-1.

Meester's next competition for Sunkist Kids will be at the NYAC Holiday International Open, which will be held November 21-22 at the New York Athletic Club in New York City.
