The Augustana indoor track and field teams got in their final tune-ups before next week's Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Championships by competing in the Nebraska Tune-Up Friday at the Devaney Sports Center in Lincoln, Neb.
The Augie women had eight individual top 10 finishes on the day. Leading the way was
Miranda Wagner. Wagner finished third in the 3,000 meters in a time of 10:23.93. Teammate
Alyssa Anderson wasn't far behind, placing fifth in 10:47.35.
Kelly Kougl added a fourth-place finish in the 1,000 meters, crossing the finish line in 3;04.83. In the 600-yard run,
Megan Erspamer and
Allison Henke finished eighth and ninth. Erspamer was clocked in 1:30.86, while Henke had a time of 1:31.69.
Annaliese Pepin added an eighth-place finish in the 200-meter dash, turning in a time of 26.40 seconds.
Bobbi Jo Buyck put together a pair of top 10 finishes. She was fifth in the 60-meter dash in a time of 7.98 seconds. She then finished 10th in the pole vault, clearing 10-06.0.
For the Augustana men, only a small number of Vikings competed. The highlight came in the 1,000 meters where the Vikings had 2 runners finish in the top 10.
Travis Beniak finished sixth in 2:30.06 and
Daniel Black was ninth in 2:31.91.
The Vikings also had two placers in the 3,000 meters as
Matt Heesch and
Matt Braithwaite finished 13th and 14th respectively. Heesch crossed the finish line in 9:02.94 while Braithwaite was close behind in 9:03.39.
