The Augustana men's tennis team dropped only 1 singles match and 1 doubles match in defeating Onondaga College 7-2 Friday morning in Orlando, Fla.
The Vikings (4-6) captured 4 singles wins in straight sets. At No. 2 singles,
Jared Drenkow routed Ryan Everett 6-0, 6-2.
Nate Strenge picked up a hard-fought win at No. 6 singles. Strenge won a first-set tiebreaker 7-4, only to see Eric Tressler win the second set. Strenge bounced back to win the super tiebreaker to claim a 7-6 (7-4), 4-6, 10-7 win.
In doubles play, Drenkow and
Ryan Gardner downed Everett and Ken Schiefer 8-4, while
Aaron Gellhaus and
Dillon Karras defeated Mason Dastal and Eric Tressler 8-3.
The Vikings will face Wisconsin-Whitewater on Saturday at 3 p.m.
