The Augustana women's tennis team picked up a pair of conference victories, defeating Minnesota, Crookston 9-0 and Bemidji State 7-2 Saturday night in Grand Forks, N.D.
With the wins, Augustana improved to 5-6 overall and 3-1 in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference.
No Viking singles player lost more than 3 games in the dual against Minnesota, Crookston Highlighting singles play was Adrienne Conley, who recorded a 6-0, 6-0 win over Gretchen Anderson at No. 4 singles.
In doubles action, the Vikings cruised to easy wins in the No. 1 and No. 3 matches. Jill Hagestuen and Hailey Gunderson defeated Megan Hulst and Jill Zelinsky 8-5 in the No. 2 doubles match.
Against Bemidji State, Augustana captured all three doubles matches and four of the six singles matches. The match of the dual came at No. 3 singles where Augustana's Emily Johnson outlasted BSU's Kelli Christiansen 6-2, 6-7 (5-7), 12-10.
For the day, two Vikings posted 4-0 records, including Brittany Gaster at No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles and Emily Johnson at No. 3 singles and No. 3 doubles.
Augustana is back in action on Wednesday, March 11, when the Vikings take on the University of Sioux Falls.
