In the third, Traci Fransen reached on an error by the first baseman before advancing to second on a single by Kalkman. Murry doubled down the left field line, scoring Fransen. A sacrifice fly by Kapsch scored Kalkman.

Augie's bats really got hot in the fourth when Rutherford doubled to right center. Fransen then sent one over the left field fence. Kalkman was walked and Murry homered to put the Vikings ahead 9-1 in the bottom of the fourth.

After Mayville was unable to answer in the top of the fifth, the Vikings were awarded the victory.
