Nate Baumann and
Bret Severtson have been named to the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference All-Conference Team, the NSIC office announced today.
Baumann earned All-Conference first team honors, while Severtson was named to the second team.
Baumann, a sophomore outfielder from Marshall, Minn., hit .343 in 140 at bats in the regular season. He recorded 48 hits and scored 38 runs on 8 doubles, 1 triple and a team-high 13 home runs.
Bauman recorded 82 putouts and eight assists in the outfield this season, while finishing the season ranked sixth in the conference in slugging percentage (.693) and second in home runs (13). He was also ranked ninth in conference games with 69 total bases.
Severtson, a sophomore relief pitcher from Flandreau, S.D., became the Vikings' closer this season, setting a single-season school record for saves with 7, as well as the NSIC single-season saves record with 6 saves. He pitched 27.1 innings and made 22 appearances on the mound for Augie, giving up 10 earned runs on 24 hits, while striking out 13 batters in posting a 2-0 record.
In his first 17 appearances, Severtson gave up two runs on 12 hits, while owning a 0.84 earned run average. Severtson was second in the conference in appearances (22) and third in conference games (14).
The Vikings will be playing in the second round of the conference tournament at noon today in St. Cloud, Minn.
