The Augustana women's basketball team was ranked among the top 10 leaders in the NCAA Division II Women's Basketball National Attendance Rankings, released by the NCAA today.
Augustana finished the 2008-09 season ranked eighth in the nation after 26,344 fans attended 17 home games at the Elmen Center. In each home game, the Vikings drew in an average of 1,550 fans per game.
Then Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference finished the season second in the country in attendance per game at 1,045 after drawing in 201,717 fans in 14 conference games this season. The Mid-America Intercollegiate Conference beat out the NSIC with an average attendance of 1,290 in 11 conference games.
NSIC opponents Northern State University led the country averaging 3,400 fans per game, while St. Cloud State University finished in second with an average attendance of 3,097.
