Augustana senior Miranda Wagner was named to the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Academic Track & Field Team the USTFCCCA announced today.
The Association honors Division II individuals for their academic and athletic acheivements during the indoor and outdoor track and field season. A total of 250 student-athletes representing 73 Division II colleges and universities make up the 2009 All-Academic team.
To qualify for the team, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 and have met the NCAA Division II Indoor or Outdoor automatic or provisional qualifying standard in their respective event.
Wagner, a native of South Heart, N.D., met the provisional qualifying mark for the 10,000 meters and competed in the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships this May. She placed 15th in the event by finishing in 38:00.22. In the classroom, Wagner has a 3.34 grade point average as an exercise science major.
