The 10th-ranked Augustana wrestling team (5-4, 1-0 NSIC) goes on the road this weekend for a pair of key Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference duals against top 10 teams. On Friday, the Vikings will be in St. Cloud, Minn., to take on No. 8 St. Cloud State in a 7 p.m. battle. Then on Saturday, Augustana travels to Mankato, Minn., to square off against No. 4 Minnesota State University, Mankato. That dual is also at 7 p.m.
ABOUT THE HUSKIES: St. Cloud State is ranked No. 8 in the nation with a 9-4 overall record and a 1-0 NSIC mark. One of the Huskies' wins is a 19-18 win over Augustana at the NWCA/Cliff Keen National Duals on January 10. SCSU has five nationally-ranked wrestlers including John Sundgren (8th/157), Tad Merritt (5th/165), Derek Skala (5th/184), Lukas Munkelwitz (6th/197) and Jacob Kahnke (6th/285).
ABOUT THE MAVERICKS: Minnesota State is ranked fourth in the nation with a 5-1 record following a third-place finish at the National Duals. MSU opens NSIC action Friday against MSU?Moorhead. Three Mavericks are nationally ranked. They include Andy Forstner (4th/125), Ben Becker (8th/174) and Brady Wilson (1st/285).
