The Augustana softball team got back on the winning track by defeating Bridgeport 4-0 and Shepherd 6-0 Friday at the Rebel Spring Games in Kissimmee, Fla.
The 22nd-ranked Vikings improved to 15-2 on the season as they rebounded from losing their first two games of the season on Thursday.
Augustana got strong starting pitching from
Ashley Meyer and
Britt Stewart. Meyer tossed a 2-hit complete game shutout against Bridgeport to get the Vikings off to a good start. She also struck out 7 hitters.
Stewart followed by pitching 6 scoreless innings against Shepherd. Stewart allowed 4 hits and struck out 3.
Mickey Anderson capped the day by pitching a scoreless inning of relief, striking out 1 and allowing 1 hit.
Augustana struck for 2 runs in the second inning against Bridgeport.
