The Augustana men's tennis team lost its final match of the season Thursday at Huether Tennis Centre. The Vikings fell 7-2 to the Minnesota State Mavericks.
Augustana (5-7) only won one singles match and one doubles match, despite matches going to tiebreakers.
The Mavericks (2-12) only fell in the No. 2 singles match, when
Evan Gardner defeated Chris Webber 6-4, 6-1.
Jared Drenkow took Marco Vazquez to a tiebreaker set at No. 1 singles, where Vazquez narrowly won, 11-9. Also going to a tiebreaker set was Cole Jensen and
Neal Gregerson at No. 5 singles. Jensen won 6-1, 6-7 (6-8) and 10-6.
The No. 1 doubles pair of Drenkow and Gardner were the only doubles win of the day, beating Vazquez and Webber 8-2.
