Augustana continues to perform well at Iowa State Classic

RESULTS

AMES, Iowa
- Adou Omot won the 800-meter for Augustana with a time of 1:49.51 at the Iowa State Classic on Saturday in Ames, Iowa.  Omot's time is currently No.1 in Division II and automatically qualifies him for the NCAA championships.

Runa Falch broke a school record while also automatically qualifying after running the 5000-meter in 16:42.25 to place eighth. Augustana also had three provisionally qualify for nationals in Travis Beniak, Kristin Brondbo and Matt Braithwaite. 

Beniak ran the 1-mile in 4:10.45 to place 11th, while Brondbo whom also ran the 1-mile placed 17th with a time of 4:57.00. Braithwaite clocked in at 14:34.51 and placed 11th in the 5000-meter. 

Tom Karbo's time of 8:22.73 in the 3000-meter is a new school record and earned him fifth place.   

Molly Kokesh (5:05.89) and LeAnn Severson (2:16.91) recorded lifetime bests in the non-seeded 1-mile and non-seeded 800-meter, respectively, while Taylor Olson (49.35) and Colleen Everson (58.43) recorded season bests in the non-seeded 400-meter.

Kokesh placed 10th and Severson was 13th. Olson placed fifth and Everson was ninth.

Augustana competes at the NSIC championships on Sunday and Monday.
