NATIONAL RANKINGS
STARKVILLE, Miss. – Augustana made its debut at No. 15 in the first regular season National Fastpitch Softball Coaches Association Top 25 poll on Wednesday after winning the Desert Stinger in Las Vegas with a 5-0 record. The Vikings garnered 148 votes in the poll.
Valdosta State took the top spot with 11 first-place votes and 395 points.
Wayne State (Neb.) is the only other Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference team to earn a spot in the poll. The Wildcats (0-0), who were ranked No. 7 in the pre-season poll, moved down to No. 10.
The Vikings will travel to St. Cloud, Minn., to compete in the Husky Dome Classic on Feb. 26 and 27.
