SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - South Dakota State dropped its only match of the dual at No. 1 singles en route to beating Augustana 8-1 Saturday night at Sioux Empire Fitness in Sioux Falls, S.D.
SDSU moves to 2-6, while Augustana falls to 2-2.
Jared Drenkow picked up the lone Vikings win on the night, knocking off SDSU's Dominic Rossetto 7-6 (14-12), 6-4 at No. 1 singles.
The Jackrabbits won the remainder of the their singles contests in straight sets.
SDSU swept doubles action.
Jared Drenkow and
Evan Gardner put together the strongest doubles performance for Vikings, falling to the Jacks' Justin Pyle and Morgan Salo 8-4 at the No. 3 match.
The Vikings will break until March 12 when they will travel to St. Peter, Minn., to play Wisconsin-Whitewater and Gustavus.
