SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - Augustana defeated Drury 9-8 in Game 1 and fell 6-2 in Game 2 of a doubleheader Saturday afternoon in Springfield, Mo.
Augustana is now 5-5. Drury moves to 7-5.
The Vikings erased a 4-0 deficit and scored all nine of their runs between the fifth and sixth innings.
Nate Baumann went 2 for 4 with four RBIs. He also slammed a triple.
Brandon Jasper finished 3 for 3 and drove in one run.
Kye Winter's (2-0) 1.2 innings of work earned him the win. He fanned one batter. Brett Severtson registered his second save of the season. He finished the final two innings and struckout three batters and didn't give up a hit.
In Game 2, DU rode a five-run third inning to its win.
Nate Alfson drove in the Vikings' two lone runs. He finished 1 for 1. Jasper collected two hits.
Tyson Gau (0-2) suffered the loss, giving up six runs on seven hits in five innings.
The Vikings will play the Panthers in a single nine-inning game tomorrow at 1 p.m.
