11 All-America finishes from eight Vikings; Omot earns national title

NCAA Division II Indoor Championship Results 

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.
- Augustana's Aduo Omot, Travis Beniak and Runa Falch each earned their second All-America honors of the NCAA National Indoor Championship for their individual performances in the final day of the DII meet. Aduo Omot highlighted the Vikings' performance, earning the national title in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:51.20. 

A total of eight Vikings received 11 All-America honors. Omot, Beniak, Taylor Olson, Tom Karbo made up the men's DMR who ran a time of 9:58.72 to place third. Falch, Kristin Brondbo, Molly Kokesh and Colleen Everson all ran for the women's DMR. The relay team finished fourth with a time of 11:58.89.   

"Wow! What a weekend for Augustana track and field," said head coach Tracy Hellman. "To conclude the championships with a national title and 11 All-America athletes is arguably one of the best finishes in our program's history. The coaching staff is extremely proud of the teams." 

Beniak ran a time of 4:11.06 in the 1-mile to earn a fifth-place finish. 

Omot's finish gives Augustana 10 points and Beniak contributed another four for the Viking men to take 11th place.

Runa Falch ran for a sixth-place finish (16:56.96) in the 5,000-meter run. 

The championships conclude the indoor track & field season for the Vikings.
