SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - Augustana will travel to Orlando, Fla., March 22 to 25 for its spring trip to play a series of five matches. First up is Otterbien on Tuesday (1 p.m.) followed by Hamline (12:30 p.m.) and Wisconsin-Oshkosh (6:30 p.m.) on Wednesday. The Vikings take on Colby at 9 a.m. Thursday and conclude play against Northwestern Ohio Friday at 1:30 p.m.
The Vikings' last outing was March 12 and Augustana dropped its first two matches of the season and are now 8-2 (6-0 NSIC).
Augustana fell 7-2 to Wisconsin-Whitewater and also to Gustavus Adolphus with
Katie Jesperson and
Hannah Gebauer posting the lone two victories in each dual.
In the UW-Whitewater match, Gebauer rallied from a 3-6 loss in the first set to win 6-2, 10-8 over Sydney Divelbiss and Jesperson got past Amy Siemon, 6-1 and 6-2.
Against Gustavus Adolphus, Jesperson won the first set 6-1 and recovered from a 4-6 loss in the second set with a 7-6 (7-4) victory over Marianne Barau in the third set. Gebauer cruised past Julie Bardenwerper 6-2, 6-2.
Jesperson now holds a 10-0 record at No. 2 singles and Gebauer is 9-0 at No. 4.
