MEN'S RESULTS | WOMEN'S RESULTS
WAYNE, Neb. - Paul Mallory won the men's 110-meter hurdles and Andrea Whitney was the champion in the women's high jump at the Wayne State Classic Tuesday afternoon in Wayne, Neb.
Mallory registered a time of 15.40 seconds to win his event, while Whitney cleared 5 feet, 1 inch for first place.
The Viking men had five athletes finish in the top eight.
Taylor Olson placed third in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.69 seconds.
Matt Winder captured a fourth-place finish in the 110-meter hurdles (16.47 seconds). He was also second in the 400-meter hurdles (56.53 seconds).
In the javelin, Dylan Buehler logged a throw of 169 feet, 8 inches to place second.
Augustana's women put nine in at least top eight finishes.
Katie Guse fell in behind Whitney in the high jump, also clearing 5 feet, 1 inch and placing second.
Colleen Everson finished fourth in the long jump at 17 feet, 4.25 inches, while Mary-Kathryn Tonner was fifth with a leap of 16 feet, 9.75 inches. Kirsten Noska was eighth after jumping 16 feet, 1.75 inches.
Whitney added to her high jump title with a third-place finish in the triple jump, going 35 feet, 8.5 inches. Noska was fourth (35 feet, 1.25 inches) and Everson was fifth (34 feet, 10.5 inches).
With a throw of 154 feet, 3 inches, Noel Bentele placed fourth in the hammer throw.
Augustana will compete at the Drake Relays on Saturday.
