Bentele breaks school, meet record at Northwestern Invite

FINAL RESULTS

ORANGE CITY, Iowa - Noel Bentele set a school and meet record in the hammer throw with a toss of 175 feet, 10 inches at the Northwestern (Iowa) Invitational Saturday in Orange, City, Iowa.

Bentele, whose throw in the hammer is the fifth best in the country this year, also placed fifth in the shot put with a toss of 40 feet, 9 inches.

Anne Parsley earned the women's 400-meter hurdles title, checking in at 1:04.85.

Colleen Everson won the women's long jump by leaping 17 feet, 4.25 inches. She also collected runner-up honors in the women's 400-meter dash with a time of 59.79 seconds.

LeAnn Severson was third in the women's 800, clocking in at 2:20.41.

In the women's high jump, Andrea Whitney and Katie Guse were second and third, respectively, with identical leaps of 5 feet, 4.25 inches. Whitney also took eighth in the triple jump (34 feet, 0.75 inches).

Meagan Grandgenett placed seventh in the women's 100-meter hurdles (16.52 seconds) and in the triple jump (34 feet, 1.5 inches).

Diego Oquendo was the top men's finisher for Augustana. He won the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.52 seconds—a personal best for the senior.

Augustana will send athletes to both the Division II Challenge Multi-Events and the Sioux City Relays next weekend.
