CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – Augustana golfers
Molly Leland and
Kate Tobin have been named to the 2010-11 All-American Scholar Team, the National Golf Coaches Association has announced.
All honorees must have a minimum grade-point average of 3.5 and excel on the course.
Leland, a junior from Alexandria, Minn., carries a 3.57 GPA as a mathematics major. She owned an 82.4-stroke average in 2010-11 and logged two top-10 finishes, including sixth-place honors at the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Championship. Leland was also named Academic All-NSIC.
A departing senior from Eden Prairie, Minn., Tobin was selected to the All-American Scholar Team for the third consecutive season after accumulating a GPA of 3.88 as a business administration major. She collected All-NSIC and NSIC All-Tournament Team honors this season. She was also named All-Central Region by the National Golf Coaches Association in 2011. Tobin, who had a 78.8-stroke average, finished fourth at the NSIC Championship, fifth at the Central Region Championship and tied for 47th at the NCAA Championship. She was also tabbed Academic All-NSIC.
Augustana won seven tournament titles in 2010-11, including the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Championship and Central Region Championship. The Vikings were ninth-place finishers at the NCAA Championship.
