Vikings fall to 16th in national poll

WACO, Texas – After dropping a 20-12 decision to top-ranked Minnesota Duluth last week, Augustana fell eight spots to No. 16 in the latest American Football Coaches Association national poll released Monday. The Vikings earned 296 points.

UMD retained its No. 1 position, garnering 724 points and 28 first-place votes.

Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference-opponent St. Cloud State climbed to No. 10 with 420 points.

UMD's win over Augustana last Saturday was a non-conference victory. It was just the second overall loss for the Vikings at Kirkeby-Over Stadium and the first since Oct. 31, 2009.
