DON HANSEN ALL-SUPER REGION THREE
BROOKFIELD, Ill. – Augustana seniors
Ben Wardell and
Zac Kallas were selected to the 2011 Don Hansen Division II All-Super Region Three football team announced this week.
Both Vikings were chosen to the third-team defense.
Kallas led the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference in 2011 with 18 passes defended. The 6-foot-1, 200-pound cornerback from Eden Prairie, Minn., had four pass interceptions and was credited with 42 tackles.
Wardell led the Vikings with four sacks in 2011. The 6-3, 230-pound defensive end from Sturgis also logged 51 tackles while recovering and forcing one fumble.
Both Wardell and Kallas were two-time All-NSIC choices. In their four seasons with the Vikings, Wardell and Kallas helped the Vikings to a 33-15 record.
Augustana posted a 6-5 record in 2011--its fourth-straight winning season.
Super Region Three includes the NSIC, the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.
