COMPLETE RANKINGS
INDIANAPOLIS – Augustana debuted at No. 10 in the first edition of the central region rankings released by the NCAA on Wednesday afternoon. The reconstructed central region is composed of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) and Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA). The top eight teams of each region will advance to the NCAA tournament.
The NSIC has six teams ranked in the top 10, with five-time defending national champion Concordia-St. Paul garnering the top spot. Central Missourri and Southwest Minnesota State check in at second and third, respectively. Washburn (Kan.) comes in at fourth and Minnesota Duluth rounds out the top-five.
Truman State, Nebraska-Kearney, Wayne State, and Minnesota State occupy the next four spots before Augustana checks in at 10
th. The Vikings have earned three wins over teams in the top nine of the central region this season.
The top five teams in the region are all ranked in the top five of the most recent AVCA Coaches' poll and Nebraska-Kearney is ranked fourth in the nation.
Augustana hosts rival University of Sioux Falls on Nov. 1 at 7 p.m. to continue NSIC competition.
