Women's golf leads by 50 strokes after first two rounds of NSIC Championships; Ostrander leads all individuals

RESULTS (ROUNDS 1-2)

BRAINERD, Minn. –
Augustana holds a comfortable 50 stroke lead at the conclusion of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference women's golf fall championships with a two-round score of 646. Augustana has four of the top five individuals after 36 holes. The NSIC Championships will conclude with two more rounds on April 20-21 at Dacotah Ridge Golf Course in Morton, Minn.

Augustana's Allie Ostrander leads all individuals after the first two rounds, at 11-over-par 155 after shooting an 80 this afternoon. Ostrander fired a first-round tournament-low 75 on Saturday.

Augustana was six strokes better than round one, shooting a 320 on Sunday. The Vikings are followed by Minnesota State 696 (365-331) and Concordia-St. Paul 699 (340-359). Sioux Falls and Upper Iowa are currently tied for fourth-place at 730.

Emily Kvidera was five strokes better than her first round shooting a 78. Kvidera is currently in second place at 17-over 161.

Maggie Leland moved all the way up from 17th-place and is currently tied for third at 21-over 165. Leland registered a 76 this afternoon after shooting an 89 on Saturday. Marisa Toivonen dropped from second to fifth place shooting an 86 on Sunday and sits at 23-over 167.

Jennifer Pederson shaved one stroke off her first round score of 87 shooting an 86 this afternoon and sits alone in 10th-place at 29-over 173.

Augustana is chasing its fourth consecutive NSIC Championship and will have to wait until the final rounds in April to do so.

The Vikings will wrap-up the fall portion of its 2012-13 schedule on Oct. 22-23 at the Sonoma State Fall Invite in Santa Rosa, Calif.
