NFCA RELEASE
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Eight members of the 2012 Augustana softball team were named National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-America Scholar Athletes in a release on Thursday afternoon.

Chelsey Durland,
Kelsey Kalkman,
Taylor Kapsch,
Theresa McMahon,
Ashley Meyer, and
Chelsi Winskowski were honored by the NFCA for their achievements on the field and in the classroom.
The athletes were required to maintain a 3.50 or higher grade point average during the 2011-12 school year in order to be eligible for NFCA's top academic award. Each athlete was then nominated by a member coach of the NFCA.
Augustana finished the 2012 season by reaching the NCAA quarterfinals and earning a regional and super regional championship on the way. The Vikings compiled a 53-12 overall record and 22-4 mark in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference competition.
Located in Sioux Falls, S.D., Augustana College is a member of NCAA Division II and competes in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference.
