FINAL RESULTS
FAYETTE, Iowa - No. 3 Upper Iowa used a win by fall and another by forfeit to top No. 5 Augustana 24-12 Friday night in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference wrestling.
UIU moves to 10-1 (6-0 NSIC); Augustana falls to 12-3 (4-2 NSIC).
The Peacocks got dual-changing wins at 157 and 285 pounds. The Vikings were forced to leave 157 pounds open as
Marcus Edgington was injured, and UIU's Zach Rosol pinned Taylor Harris in 3 minutes, 23 seconds at 285 pounds.
Augustana christened the dual with a victory at 149 pounds where
Nate Herda handed Jordan Rinken a 9-3 loss.
Following the Peacocks' win by forfeit at 157 pounds, they added another win at 165 pounds when Blake Sorensen edged
Matt Morris 3-0.
Carl Serck (174) and
Jayd Docken (184) evened the contest at 9 apiece with Viking wins by decision.
UIU, though, would rattle off four wins to follow, getting victories at 197, 285, 125 and 133 pounds. The surge afforded the Peacocks a 24-9 advantage.
Chism Fink closed the dual with a Viking victory at 141 pounds by beating Duane Richardson 14-8.
The win put UIU in first place in the NSIC standings.
Augustana closes the NSIC season at MSU Moorhead Wednesday at 7 p.m.
