Vikings get eight wins at Wayne State dual

MEN'S RESULTS WOMEN'S RESULTS

WAYNE, Neb. - Augustana received eight first-place finishes in a dual meet with Wayne State Saturday at the WSC Recreation Center.

The men had six winners.

In the track events, Taylor Olson won the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.03 seconds, Matt Winder's time of 52.79 seconds won the 400-meter dash, and Paul Mallory won the 60-meter hurdles in 8.5 seconds.

Jacob Pohlmann cleared 6 feet, 0.75 inches to win the high jump, Tor Myrhol recorded a height 12 feet, 2.75 inches to win the pole vault and Aaron Jung's toss of 54 feet, 7.5 inches won him the shot put and provisionally qualified him for the national meet in the event.

The women had two record top finishes.

Mary Hitchcock finished first in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1 minute, 3.83 seconds.

Andrea Whitney, who later in the day grabbed five rebounds in the Vikings' women's basketball game against WSC, won the high jump with a leap of 5 feet, 4.25 inches.

Augustana begins postseason competition next weekend at the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Championship in Mankato, Minn.
