STORM LAKE, Iowa - Augustana men's tennis improved to 3-0 on the season, defeating Coe 7-2 and Buena Vista 6-3 on Saturday.
The Kohawks drop to 7-2 and BVU is now 3-4.
The Vikings swept doubles competition against Coe to pick up the first three points of the match.
Jared Drenkow and
Evan Gardner earned a hard fought 9-7 victory in the match.
Collin Noldner and
Mitchell Barr were victorious at No. 2 (8-5).
Neal Gregerson and
Jackson Buchanan finished off Doug Land and Alex Leovic 8-4.
Singles wins for Augustana came at No. 1, No. 2, No. 5 and No. 6.
No. 1 Drenkow topped Jeff Damisch 6-3, 6-1, and on the second court Barr got past Daken Starkenburg 6-3, 6-2.
The final two wins were from Buchanan (6-2, 7-6 (7-2) and Gregerson (6-1, 6-3).
The pairs of Drenkow and Gardner and Buchanan and Gregerson moved their doubles records to 3-0 overall, each earning wins over BVU.
At No. 1, Drenkow and Garder pulled out a 9-8 (7-5) victory.
Buchanan and Gregerson posted an 8-4 win at No. 2.
Drenkow, Barr and Buchanan are undefeated in singles play this season with wins over BVU.
No. 1 Drenkow had to battle for his straight-set 7-6 (7-3), 6-2 win over Adam Gustad, while Barr (No. 2) easily beat Mike Sporer 6-0, 6-0.
Noldner bounced back from his loss against Coe and defeated Jason Ehrhardt 6-1, 6-1 at No. 3.
Buchanan's 6-4, 6-2 win over Keifer Nevius gave the Vikings their sixth win of the match.
On March 10, Augustana travels to St. Peter, Minn., for matches against Wisconsin-Eau Claire and Gustavus.
