MINNEAPOLIS - Southwest Minnesota State limited Augustana to four runs Tuesday en route to a doubleheader sweep of the Vikings in the Metrodome. The Mustangs won 5-2 and 4-2 in the non-conference twinbill.
SMSU improves to 10-5, while Augustana falls to 5-6.

Ryan Burmeister each had a hit for Augustana in the opening game.
Casey Jacobson (1-1) worked 6.1 innings and gave up five runs on seven hits to take his first loss of the season.
SMSU hurler Aaron Johnson kept the Vikings in check, going 6.0 innings and allowing four hits and just one earned run. He also struck out four.
The Mustangs got a 3 for 4, one-RBI outing from Brian Ness.
Augustana built itself a 2-0 lead after three innings, posting a pair of runs in the bottom of the third. Burmeister, who dropped in a single early in the frame, scored on a botched pick-off attempt by SMSU.
Brian Knight accounted for the other run by stealing home with two outs.
From there, the Vikings offense would sputter and register just three additional hits for the remainder of the contest.
SMSU rode two hits to two runs in the fourth and scored another in the fifth to take a 3-2 lead. The Mustangs added a pair of runs in the seventh.
In Game 2, SMSU's Bryce Rippentrop (2-2) fanned nine batters and tossed 5.0 innings to earn the win. Alex Alvarez threw the rest of the game to earn the save.
Voigt led the Vikings at the dish, going 2 for 4 and driving in both of Augustana's runs.
Grant Larson (1-1) took the loss and gave up four runs (one earned) on five hits in 5.0 innings.
Voigt's double in the top of the first inning scored Borchardt and gave his team an early 1-0 lead.
The Mustangs moved ahead with two runs in the bottom half of the inning.
Voigt ripped another double in the third inning to score Hansen, tying the contest at 2-2.
The Mustangs, though, took a decisive lead in the fourth, using a double and sacrifice bunt to move ahead 4-2.
Neither team would score from there.
The doubleheader served as the Vikings' final tune-up before Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference action.
Augustana opens its conference season Saturday and Sunday with home doubleheaders against Northern State each day. Saturday's action begins at 1 p.m., and Sunday is a noon start.
