SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - Augustana scored three runs in the seventh inning to break away from a 1-1 tie and collect a 6-1 victory over Minnesota Duluth in the second game of a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference doubleheader Sunday afternoon at Ronken Field. UMD posted a 3-1 win in Game 1.
Augustana moves to 28-15 (20-8 NSIC); UMD is now 19-24 (12-17 NSIC).
David Borchardt highlighted a resurgent Viking offense in Game 2, going 2 for 3 with a home run (his 10th of the season) and two RBIs.
Marcus O'Neill went 3 for 4 and drove in a run.

Brendan Phillips each logged an RBI.
Augustana left-hander
Ben Heairet (4-1) fanned nine batters in 6.2 innings of work. The junior did not give up an earned run.
Grant Larson (1.1 innings) and
Tony Viger (1.0 inning) finished the game.
Adam Zwak (2-3) allowed three runs on six hits in 6.2 innings to take the loss for UMD. The Bulldogs used three additional arms to close the contest.
UMD scored the first run of the game--and its only of the tilt--in the second inning when Max Ryan registered an RBI groundout for a 1-0 Bulldog lead.
The Vikings tied the game in the third after Hansen slapped an RBI single to score Borchardt.
Augustana's three-run seventh inning featured an RBI single from Goihl for the go ahead run and a two-run homer by Borchardt for insurance.
More insurance--this time on RBI singles by O'Neill and Phillips--came in the eighth as the Vikings tacked on two runs.
The Augustana offense was less productive in the afternoon's first contest. The Vikings were limited to just three hits and scored their only run in the seventh and final frame.
UMD hurler Mark Shaver (1-0) had a perfect game brewing heading into the sixth but gave up a two-out double in the inning. He allowed just two hits in 6.0 innings while striking out seven. Michael Stocke posted his second save of the season by tossing the last inning.
Casey Jacobson (4-4) put together a strong outing for Augustana, pitching a complete game and not allowing an earned run on four hits. He struck out four in the loss.
The Bulldogs did all their scoring in the second, plating three runs. Two came on a Viking error, while the other occurred on a sacrifice fly.
Augustana wouldn't get a hit or get a runner aboard until the sixth when O'Neill ripped a pinch-hit, two-out double.
Borchardt smashed a solo home run in the seventh to account for the Vikings' lone run of the game.
The Viking pitching staff did not give up an earned run all afternoon.
Augustana will host U-Mary in a conference doubleheader on Tuesday at 1:30 p.m.
