CoSIDA RELEASE
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - The College Sports Information Directors of America announced Thursday Augustana's
Theresa McMahon has been named Capital One Academic All-District 7 first team.
District 7 includes schools from the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference and Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.
McMahon will advance to the Capital One Academic All-America ballot, where first-, second- and third-team honorees will be selected later this month. Nominations and voting for the Academic All-America programs are conducted by members of CoSIDA.
McMahon, a junior from Hartford, S.D., is batting .345 and leads the team with 17 home runs this season. She has also driven in 49 runs and hit 11 doubles. McMahon is third on the career home-run list with 33 and needs just three more to become the all-time leader at Augustana.
To be nominated for all-district honors, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at her current institution.
Augustana (48-10), ranked No. 16 nationally, is the host for this weekend's Central 2 Regional and will open against Colorado Mesa (26-22) Friday at 1:30 p.m.
