Augustana women's golf captures Concordia Invite title

FINAL RESULTS

LAKE ELMO, Minn. –
Augustana women's golf captured its first team title of the 2012-13 season on Monday winning the 16-team 36-hole Concordia Invite with a 620 (305-315). The Vikings held an 11-stroke lead heading into the final round and Grand Valley State made a run at the top but Augustana held on to win the tournament by four strokes. GVSU finished with a 624 (316-308) to take second.

Grand Valley State had the individual medalist in the tournament. Kelly Hartigan fired a tournament-low 73 this afternoon to hold a one stroke lead over Augustana's Emily Kvidera. Kvidera finished the tournament six-over-par 150 to finish second.

Maggie Leland was four strokes better than her first round, firing a 74 this afternoon, finishing at eight-over-par 152. Allie Ostrander finished in a tie for fourth with a 10-over 154. Jennifer Benoy, competing individually for Augustana, was four strokes better on Monday with a 78 and finished 14th.

Jennifer Pederson finished in a tie for 23rd with teammate Marisa Toivonen both firing a 165 in the tournament.

Augustana returns to action this Saturday competing in the SMSU Invitational at the Marshall Golf Club in Marshall, Minn.
