FINAL RESULTS
MARSHALL, Minn. – Augustana fired a 624 to capture the Mustang Invite title for the third consecutive season at the Marshall Golf Club on Sunday afternoon. The Vikings were six strokes better than yesterday (315-309) won the 36-hole, par-72 tournament by 20 strokes over 17 teams.
Emily Kvidera was the individual medalist tying a tournament record with a 70 on Sunday. Kvidera finished two-over-par 146 for the tournament.
Jennifer Pederson, who led after the first round, finished in third with a 10-over-par 154 (75-79).
Sadie Martin finished in a tie for sixth with a 14-over-par 158 (81-77) while
Marisa Toivonen finished in a tie for eighth-place carding a 15-over-par 159 (81-78). Martin and Toivonen were both competing as individuals for the Vikings.
Jennifer Benoy and
Maggie Leland both finished in a tie for 15th-place shooting 18-over-par 162. Both fired identical rounds of 82-80.
Allie Ostrander was two strokes better on Sunday finishing with a 166 (84-82).
Kelsey Bortnem and
JoDee Wheeler, competing as individuals, both finished at 27-over-par 171 for the two-day tournament. Also competing as an individual,
Katie Grevlos shot identical 87's in both rounds for a 174.
Concordia St. Paul finished second at 646 (337-309) while Minnesota State came in third shooting a 648 (331-317).
Augustana has now won three team titles in tournaments this season.
The Vikings return to action next Sunday at the South Dakota State Invitational in Sioux Falls.
