ST. JOSEPH, MO. – Augustana men's golf finished the fall portion of its schedule by tying for ninth in the Drury Inn Central Region Invite at the St. Joseph Country Club on Tuesday. The Vikings put up a 28-over-par 312 on the scorecard for the third and final round.
Augustana finished second out of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference teams that participated in the 20-team field.
The Vikings shot a 67-over-par 919 for the two-day event, which consisted of three rounds. Nebraska-Kearny won the event with a three-round score of 27-over-par 879.
Drew Trautman had the highest individual finish for Augustana. Trautman shot a 12-over-par 83 on Tuesday. For the tournament, the junior finished tied for 27th with a three-round score of 227 (71-73-83). Henderson State's Matt Jennings won individual medalist with an overall score of four-under-par 209, three shots ahead of second place.
Collin Hammer tied for 50th with a 20-over-par 233 (76-74-83) for his three rounds of play. The Sioux Falls, S.D. native shot a 12-over-par 83 for his final round on Tuesday.
Tyler Jensvold began the day tied for 66th, but moved up the leaderboard on Tuesday with a round of four-over-par 75. Jensvold's good play resulted with him finishing 46th in the tournament with an overall score of 19-over-par 232 (79-78-75).
Kyle Kopplin tied for 64th with a score of 23-over-par 236 (78-80-78) for the two-day event.
Clay Kopplin posted a 5-over par 76 on Tuesday, giving him a total score of 23-over-par 236 (77-83-76) for the event, which tied him for 64th.
Augustana returns to action in the spring.
