Viking bats go silent in game two of twinbill with Hawaii Pacific on Sunday

BOX SCORE WAIPAHU, Hawaii – Hawaii Pacific scored at least a run in all six innings, including five in the first and six in the third on its way to a 22-1 win over Augustana in the second game of a doubleheader on Sunday. The Sea Warriors (3-1) finished the game with 17 hits, including 10 doubles while Cory Yuh went the distance for the win.

Yuh finished with seven strikeouts while allowing four hits in seven innings of work to pick up his first win of the season. Grant Larson (0-1) threw 2.2 innings and gave up 14 runs, 12 earned, on 11 hits for his first loss of the season.

Russel Doi was 3 for 5 at the plate for the Sea Warriors while driving in two runs. Doi was just one of seven players with multiple hits for Hawaii Pacific. Chad Bolibol was 2 for 4 at the plate with four RBI while Jordan Oshiro drove in three runs on one hit.

Augustana finished the game with just four hits. The Vikings scored its lone run in the top of the fourth inning when Brian Duxbury grounded into a double play and Jason Rasmussen, who singled to lead off the inning, scored.

Hawaii Pacific cracked 10 doubles in the game, three of which were consecutive in the bottom of the second inning. The Vikings were held without a hit in the final three innings of the game.

Augustana and Hawaii Pacific will close-out its five-game series at 10 p.m. CT on Monday in Waipahu, Hawaii.
