FINAL RESULTS
PALM DESERT, Calif. – Augustana shot 20 strokes better in the second round of the Augustana Spring Fling in Palm Desert, Calif. on Friday and finished third overall with a 648. The Vikings shot a 335 on day one and a 313 today. St. Edward's University won the tournament shooting 21-over-par as team with a two-round score of 597.
St. Edwards had the top three finishers in the tournament with Wallis Spears firing the tournament-low round of 70 and finished one-under-par for the 36-hole competition.
Emily Kvidera was Augustana's highest finisher shooting nine-over-par 153. Kvidera shot a 77 in round one and a 76 today.
Jennifer Pederson fired a 17-over-par 161 to finish 12th while
Allie Ostrander finished 18-over-par 162. Pederson shot an 84 in round one but finished with a 77 today and Ostrander fired a 79 today after shooting an 83 on Thursday.
Marisa Toivonen was 10 strokes better today shooting an 81 and finishing in 22nd overall with a 28-over-par 172.
Jennifer Benoy was 11 strokes better than her Thursday score with an 82 and finished 25th overall with a 175. Benoy was competing as an individual in the tournament for the Vikings.
Maggie Leland was 16 strokes better than her first round score and finished in a tie for 26th with a 178.
Kelsey Bortnem and Katie Grevolos, who both competed individually for the Vikings, finished 28th and 30th respectively.
Bortnem shot a 35-over 179 while Grevlos shot a 184 in the 36-hole tournament.
Augustana returns to action on March 24-25 at the Griffon Invitational in St. Joseph, Mo.
